Schools new to the contest must contact the contest chair so an account can be set up for your school on the HS Portal.  Returning schools can complete registration on the HS Portal.

June 1 – Registration opens for contest (fee is $250)

November 1 – Deadline for early registration (fee becomes $300 after this date)

December 1 – Deadline for registration (fee becomes $350 after this date)

January 1 – Registration open based upon available space.  Contact the contest chair for further information.

Below are the timeline dates for the 2019-2020 season.


14 – Rosters for the regional competition must be entered on the portal by NOON on this date.  Minimal roster changes are permitted on the day of the contest.

14 – Coaches must notify the contest chair and regional host of any student(s) with special needs who need non-traditional means of question presentation (e.g., foreign language dictionary, large print copies, etc.) by NOON on this date.

22 – Regional Competition

26 – Deadline for corrections to regional scores.  Refer to email from contest chair.


15 (approx) – State qualifiers posted on HS Portal for coaches

15 – State t-shirt order form available on HS Portal for coaches

15 – State Roster Entry Opens on HS Portal for coaches

15 – Deadline for corrections to missing regional awards.  Contact the awards chair.  (Note: Additional awards necessary due to score corrections will be ordered by the contest chair.)

26 – State oral conflict form due (if participating)


7 – State finals t-shirts pre-ordering closes.  Order form and check must be received by April 14.  A very limited number of shirts will be available for purchase at the state finals.

28 – Deadline for notification of students with special needs (including foreign language dictionary.  Contact the contest chair.

30 – State rosters must be entered on the HS Portal by 10PM.


2 – 9:30 AM – Opening Ceremony – State Finals – Foellinger Auditorium

2 – 9:45 AM – Proctors Meeting

2 – 4:00 PM – State Finals Awards Ceremonies
